Github maybe? A separate issue per project/task. Ongoing discussion can be done in tg, interim results summarized on github.
Anyway, this github needs a curator. And tags, moar tags!
PS. Personally, I kinda hate discord, but if it is agreed upon, I'll be forced to join it, of course...
I kinda hate discord as well, but no better ideas.
Re github, I just noticed like 3 times in a row that as soon as there is github issue linked, the ongoing debate in the channel stops, but it never goes into the issue. So we lose a lot of conversation by asking people to come here and comment.
Cant it be the same with discord?
The problem is that people don't like conversation breakers, e.g. moving from one place to another. Github doesn't support free-flowing conversation at all, so it'll always be problematic to attract attention here.
Discord does support free-flowing conversations, so we won't need to break the flow to discuss something.
Potential issue is whether people would be active there at all, or everyone will just keep reading gihub.
If everyone will keep reading github -- I dont see any problem. Imo, the problem is that people dont read github that much now. However, github discussions seem working well for coding-related stuff. Dont know why it doesnt work here...
We need a platform that allow seamless discussion, "thread" the useful ones, and forward or save to some folders for organization. Everything should be there. Once we hit github its almost final proposal then quickly vote. If the platform is good we can even abandon github.
I currently see the flow like this:
The folders that contain "threads" need to be maintained (by someone, could pay LOBs) because it will grow very fast. Some of the archives that are useful can be repackage into Medium articles (again, pay someone LOBs), etc.
Discord is a de-facto standard for DAO communications nowadays, not sure we can replicate the same with Github.
Here is the vote for the proposal: https://snapshot.org/#/10b57e6da0.eth/proposal/QmZzqifYMwmrjWcgquDKe7XDG2KEu5Gm47VsCtLBN8amwR
I can't vote as I have no LOBs and just found my way through telegram. At BanklessDao, discord has certainly made a difference on how we coordinate. Initial pain of setting it up and organising channels, hence, first few weeks can look crazy but overtime the server will start to organise. We can all chip in to set it up.
@Guldara were there any pain points in the setup process or later that we can avoid?
Can this be closed?
The problem: Very hard to manage many different directions of work in a one-channel chat like TG. We need separate info flow and working groups on each project partnership, governance discussions, internal organizational work, marketing work and so on.
Did a pre-vote in tele, 50 people voted, 90% said they'd join.
