FrontPage_Edited.pdf

Our Chinese translator, Faith, had a few edits for the front home page. Attaching the PDF here with instructions. Let me know if you need her to clarify / include this info in a different way!

  1. In the top section edit, where the sentence needs to be on the same line: it is easy to keep all the characters on the same line: Screen Shot 2021-03-17 at 7 35 11 PM

(via CSS white-space: "no-wrap") I think my fix will work for all but the tiniest screens.

footnote: However, to detect the device viewport size and shrink the font to prevent the writing going off the page is kinda hard. Dev notes: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/3401136/resize-font-to-fit-in-a-div-on-one-line

  1. Just want to confirm: the 3 parts: with image, header, and body: is a simple replacement of the text for header and body? (Just confirming b/c the PDF text, when I copy, has line-breaks. Plain UTF text would be ideal (if easy).

Sorry didn't mean to close the issue. Please verify the requirements have been implemented properly and, if so, close. Fancy language for: check it out and if it's good, close :)

No worries!

For question 1) confirm it looks good and okay with it running over on small screens.

For question 2), she did have further updates for the 3 initiative sections below. Here's the doc / image.

The fonts are different... maybe I can't see the difference. This is what is live now:

I could also send you the file and Faith can type it directly into there: index.cn.md.zip

Heya. Had a video call with Faith to see the best approaches to making this easier / more efficient. Apparently plain text Chinese isn't producing the right spacing / look, and she is advising we use the doc or PDF file. She said when you first used her copy, it worked best (whether you copy / pasted from the doc or the PDF) and advised going that route.

If it's cool with you, let's try copy / pasting her latest notes and seeing if it works out? Worst case scenario, we'll all get on a call to figure out a solution here together. She apologized for making this difficult (which I told her she wasn't) and appreciated our work here!

I'm attaching both the doc and the PDF versions here.

What we should do is have her create a github account and she can edit the text directly. I can show how to do that.

As long as she's okay with it, that's okay on my end. I'll CC you on an email with her to chat.
