It's a while since we looked at this and without a description of the issue, it's hard to know what we are trying to solve. I have done some digging and I don't think this is an issue, or at least it is an issue we can fix. It seems that some images are not pulling through to Gitbook, namely the homepage banner. I have checked a number of other pages with images and they have pulled through e.g. https://app.gitbook.com/o/Ao6vxVoZGmUE4zHdjqCe/s/Z51PowRCaxKKEYPjsnka/content/patterns or https://app.gitbook.com/o/Ao6vxVoZGmUE4zHdjqCe/s/Z51PowRCaxKKEYPjsnka/content/how-to/how-to-crop-images
I think the homepage issue is because Maria has done some clever stuff and gitbook can't read it, and gitbook has a cover image feature via the UI which will replace this. See https://docs.gitbook.com/content-creation/blocks/insert-images#resizing-images-through-git-sync The footer links can similarly be done using Gitbook's links feature.
