Croydon previously talked about ways to replace an aging directory of services http://maps.croydon.gov.uk/aya/pages/aya/aya.html

This needs proper discovery work. The main difference from directories is that users can enter a postcode, and the site provides the nearest results on a single page from a defined set of directories

User research done at Dorset, and verified by work at Essex on their Local Offer, is that users value seeing the distance to a facility to work out if it is feasible to visit it. We've used the Google Place API to return distance values and build this in to the results on a postcode search (https://www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/parking/find-a-carpark/find-a-car-park)
