Custom Layer

Overview

Add the ability to add a custom layer to the map. This can be either input via a tileset url or a custom table uploaded to databricks.

Additionally, users should be able to style the custom layer how they want. The styling options would be dependent on the type of geometry of the custom layer which can be one of:

• Point
• Polygon
• Polyline
• H3

UI

• Form select & text control that is able to grab all the tables under schema "custom_superset_uploads" from databricks and populate the selection with those table names, or just input the mapbox tileset URL
• Geometry type of data
• Styling options

Stories

Create user stories for each geometry type above and map out the requirements better.

Style Data

• Point
  • Shape (Circle, Square, Star, Pentagon, Triangle)
  • Colour (either fixed or based on an attribute in the data)
  • Size (either fixed or based on an attribute in the data)
• Polygon, Polyline, H3
  • Colour (either fixed or based on an attribute in the data)

Data Structure

• Point: two fields for lat and lng
• Polygon, Polyline: geometry field in one of WKT, WKB, GeoJSON
• H3: h3_id field
