Blog post 1 would be about our plot themes.
@stephlocke had a good idea already of what a theme would look like, and Locke Data has company colours, so easy to know what needed to be implemented.
Setup for the theme and font copied from hrbrthemes
. Keypoint is the font files live inside the package, they're loaded at startup, and there's a helper function to import them.
Color scale code copied from colorblindr
.
Tests of the plots with vdiffr
. Write tests, vdiffr::manage_cases
to collect new plots the first time tests are run, and voilà.
Only Travis CI at the moment. Inside the test files, I wrote code to import Roboto when on Travis, before running the tests. Examples not run, easier.
Blog post to be written only after we've used the package a bit more, and after team members installed it on mac.
Just notes about possible blogging with this package as topic.
@stephlocke said it was an example of using
pRojects
, true.I'm also thinking it could be a good example of creating a ggplot2 theme, and an RMarkdown tempate. I don't know that many posts explaining the process? The general strategy is to copy what Bob Rudis did in
hrbrthemes
.Reg ggplot2 we'll be living on the edge since I plan to use the new theming possibilities implemented by Dana in the dev version, that's to be released next month though.
