Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
I've "successfully" installed soundflower twice and still nothing happens when
I click the icon in Finder/app/soundflower on my mac OS X 10.6.8. I can open
the readme file.

I realised I was being stupid. When you open Soundflower it won't put an icon
in the dock. It WILL put an icon in the menu bar at the top though. You can
access Soundflower settings from there.

Hope this helps :)

Jonathan, did you read my comment?

Got it.

The dock is used to open an app, and it can open Soundflowerbed. It's a matter
of being seen by the user after it opens.

The usual cmd+tab process didn't show Soundflowerbed.

I had a similar problem where soundflowerbed was opening and closing
immediately, for me the problem was caused by my usb audio device. By turning
off my external audio device before opening soundflowerbed it was able to
start. hope this helps

I have the same problem.
OSX 10.9.4
if I select soundflower as audio output in system preferences the audio is
actually mirrored both on the speakers and on the virtual device. But I need
the audio to go ONLY to the virtual device.
soundflowerbed won't start so I can't try to configure it.
I suspect having boomdevice might not help ( http://www.globaldelight.com/boom/
) but I totally disabled it ( not uninstalled it )
I don't think I understand comment #8

Oh, sorry! got in now.
So soundflowerbed is not an app, it sits in the Menubar. (the list of icons at
the top near the menu) so if you have many icons in the menubar you won't see
it.
Switch among all your apps to find one with a short enough menu and you will
see the flower. One such app is the "activity monitor". All Macs have it.
Even with soundflowerbed, I can't setup the audio to only go for soundflower
without coming out of the speakers :(

Soundflower had been working for me all along, but just in the last week or so
I try to launch it and the Soundflower icon just flashes momentarily in the
Menubar and disappears. Can't seem to access it anymore, I haven't knowingly
changed anything else.

i installed soundflower successfully many times the icon is in my launch pad
and when i click it it goes up to menu bar like it should, however when i click
the menu bar icon to bring up the drop list it tells me its not installed, i
also can't find it in my sound system preferences. any ideas on why this is
happening?
