crash when backing up voicemail sms

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. (On Fido Canada) miss a call and have someone leave you a voicemail
2. receive an sms from your carrier saying you have a new voicemail
3. run sms backup

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Backup should complete successfully, but crashes when backing up that 
voicemail notification sms. Deleting the voicemail notification sms allows 
sms backup to complete backup normally. 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
sms backup 1.1 on android 2.1 (nexus one)

Please provide any additional information below.
I think this happens because there is no number associated to the sender of 
the voicemail notification. When selecting "add to contacts", the number 
shows as "/".
