So what websites are we putting this on?

logan-r commented 11 years ago

http://html5-games.github.io/vilify. The code for the website is here.

D-1-hacker commented 11 years ago

Is that the only one or are going to expand.

logan-r commented 11 years ago

I don't know... What do you think?

D-1-hacker commented 11 years ago

I think we should. The basis for that is if we get people excited for new games we start a premium towers and skills and elements or you can buy them and make money. And I would also like to put it on my website.

D-1-hacker commented 11 years ago

I know it sounds kind of like a bad idea but still.

sru commented 11 years ago

It is a bad idea... If we bring money into this, there's many more problems. Hacking is definitely the biggest problem. We then need to find secure server to store all the interactions (who bought what), and we need to identify who is who. Also, the game needs to be server-sided because you can just change a code and get a premium towers and skills and elements if it is client-side. There's problem with splitting money too.

D-1-hacker commented 11 years ago

Yes splitting the money is a huge problem. Do you own the website that we're putting this on?

Right now the game is open source, so anyone could put it on their website. But yes, we will own the main website that hosts the game. We are developing it now here.

D-1-hacker commented 11 years ago

Alright this is going to sound dumb but where is the code and how do I download it.

sru commented 11 years ago

Well, aren't you looking at it? Go to Code on the tabs. If you have git installed type git clone git@github.com:HTML5-Games/vilify.

ealexanderca commented 11 years ago

why don't we ask a gaming website if the would like to use our game like miniclip or something

D-1-hacker commented 11 years ago

There is also notdoppler and my website.

@Tmac72915 Please don't post this kind of thing it is distracting and as you can see, we are working as hard as we can. There is a link to the (wip) game on our thread at codecademy.

Yeah they're this awesome up and coming gaming site that u can use your smart phone as the controller.

TheSentinel387 commented 11 years ago

I just took a look at it and I think it looks ok, but having smartphone and browser to play is a bit to much (I think) I was thinking more of just browser or just tablet, but at the end of the day it's @logi0's call.

Well we only need controls on the smart phone and the game on the computer it may be a little much right now but later it will be a breeze. We also may not have to write the code for the controller either Brass Monkey may do that.

TheSentinel387 commented 11 years ago

yes, but I meant that needing both seemed a bit much. Ditto my last post.

D-1-hacker commented 11 years ago

Agreed. But I'm just sayin' that I use the site and the games are kinda gettin' old and they need new ones. Plus a lot of them are pretty crappy like a kid did them so there isn't much pressure in that area.
