Suggestion - Non-default addictions #2245

Gathered together several different ideas for addictions that player does not start with, but has high chances to fall into as their playthrough progresses, with their own associated need icon.

for tea combating coffee adiction sould be all three added: black tea, green tea and Yerba Mate(with its prefered recipient for serving)

wait a second you now adding coffe to adictions? i was strugling with food&water addiction!! ;)))

The problem with all these new addictions is 1. All the new icons and where they go 2. Already having the default addictions is hard enough for early game and limiting the players options even further can make it really hard. But that's just my opinion

the default adictions arnt hard to remove when you know what to do (aka spend time in the sauna) and there will be plenty of space for more addictions when the character status screen is eventfully added (could also just make it so that your most needy addiction will show up on the main screen compared to ones that dont need tending to at the moment)

What I'm saying is in early game when the player needs to scavenge and is struggling to survive, they might need to get sugar drinks and coffee to stay awake and work instead of sleeping. I just don't think caffeine and sugar addictions should be a thing because the player is going to find those things and drink them

I think more addictions are needed for the mid/late-game, since after you're done with the default addictions (under a week!) you really don't encounter anything like that, that's why the issue says "non-default", as in not the starting ones to overwhelm player more

Drinking a coffee or eating something sweet once in a while would not get you addicted, it's stuff like making yourself 3-4 cups of coffee to not go to sleep, even though you can. But also, the main hurt from these two addictions would be monetary, and unlike drug addiction, these two would force player to engage with coffee crafting or expanding their diet to sugar stuff

What if the player got caffeine addiction if they drink more than 3 coffees in one da same with sugar. Steeling addiction I feel like defeats the point of theft in the first place as it is normally used to get just a few resources

Stealing addiction doesn't as much as defeats the purpose of stealing but rather forces you to continue doing so once you've committed to the life of crime, especially if you keep returning to Kolhola every day only to steal every single item from every apartment, if you do so, that's an addiction.

* i am not asking for fitness and strict dietary update :P no no no :P *** however there should be reason for everything :)
