It's because ShardGauntlets have 1 enviro-damage at every tier instead of 0 like Swords have. Only through completely disabling environmental damage with 0 can you prevent Templars or Shinobi or base-game Rangers from blowing up half the map with their swords.
Use the Templar, and rend the Stun Lancer. One of the snipers should fall through the building.
This may also be caused b/c the initial environmental damage was caused by the Stun Lancer. So maybe the bug is that by killing the Stun Lancer, it triggers any damage that he caused to the environment to double or something?
