Crash when Starting Mission #818

Hello,

The first mission after discovering Black market, when I try to start the mission it crashes. when I do a Steam file check, it has had to replace files a few times. it crashes every time I try to do that mission. I can click ignore, set science, clean rooms and upgrade soldiers after first mission.

I removed all Mods, added back just the required mods and did a steam file check. loaded game and it still crashed, started new game and got to the same mission and it crashed,

Don't know about the specifics of the mod, but the fact the game is unable to find many of the LWOTC and Highlander files implies something has gone wrong with the installation. First thing I would try is move your Steam install out of Program Files. UAC will always cause problems, particularly with non-steam delivered mods.

I would advise moving your existing Steam installation to a new folder (for example D:\Steam or D:\Games) and reinstall both the LWOTC and Highlander mods:

Look at "How do I move my existing Steam Installation?" halfway down - I did that and have had no problems with mods or games since.

thank you Swarbs1982. I moved the game , did file check and still crashed. but noticed something in mod folder, when extracting the LW files again. it creates folder called with zip name that has LW and highlander mod in folders below that. moved them up one level and still crashed, but havent tried with new game which I will do tommorow.
