Intel data tap defence is probably the least fun mission in the entire game. Its all fun and games at start where you dont have to deal with +20 enemies that will one shot your rebels with first AOE attack.
But at some point in the late game, this mission type is also the most difficult one. Since losing cuts your intel off in a sector with large enemy forces so you cannot field troop ambushes or stop Heaven raids before they start.
The problem is the data tap itself, it has very little HP for late game
Like on Veteran its 20/30/40 which is nothing given the number of enemies that you can encounter and their damage output.
80 HP in late game should be better.
But maybe the biggest change that could be done is to remove the 100% hit chance against buildings. Because if you flashbang or suppress enemy troops, they wont shoot at rebels, but at the data tap and they will hit all the time.
Without the 100% hit chance, crowd control and protective smoke could be used to reduce pressure, lowering the need for suicidal charges. If this would be too OP, then Advent relays could be missed too so missing a large, stationary structure would work on both sides.
