@umiddelb i doubt that this crash is related to the gmactxonly branch. It most likely is either a general issue with the board/kernel or a power supply issue.
You're right, may be my sdcard just starts dying ...
@umiddelb were you able to confirm what was causing your issue? I'm currently seeing the same issue and have ruled out the power supply. My pine seems to hang every few reboots with both debian and ubuntu, but appears to be fine with dietpi.
I cannot exactly tell you the root cause, but I needed to replace the power supply too. In the meantime I've changed the board to run a mainline kernel, so I have no recent experience I can share with you.
