This is coming from LT78. It is late game, T115. There are still many active players with lots of wars and even more units on the map. Right now its taking about 20 seconds to load the game map after clicking the connect button after entering your password. The screen locks up and you think the game is also locked up. Here is a sample screen shot.
Describe the solution you'd like
We should have a "loading" screen or dialog instead of the pre-game dialog that gracefully says "loading game" and even better shows a progress bar or percent complete counter or something to show progress.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Well, maybe solve the cause of the slow map load is a good alternative. Even on single-player games with large maps and number of players the load can be slow.
