What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Set the phone (samsung galaxy s2, ICS) in hotspot mode
2.Connect to a VPN
3.Try to access a location enabled by the VPN (location works fine on the
phone) from a device connected to the hotspot
A rough schematic of what I try to achieve:
Laptop=>SG2[hotspot+openvpn]=>3G
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would like to be able to expose vpn destionations via the mobile hotspot. I'm
not sure if this is even possible but would be a nice feature if it was.
What mobile phone are you using?
Samsung Galaxy S2
Which Android Version and stock ROM or aftermarket like cyanogenmod?
Stock, 4.0.4
Please provide any additional information below.
I have two vpn types configured:
One only pushes routes to various servers behind the vpn. Connected to this I
can browse the web but remote locations behind the vpn are not accesible
The second vpn is a 'safe browsing' vpn, a server that routes all traffic
trough it. Connected to this one it's not possible to browse connected to the
mobile hotspot at all.
It might look counter-intuitive not to run the vpn client on the final device
but this would be useful when serving more than one device and also connecting
devices that do not support openvpn. (the ipad springs to mind, :) though my
target is to connect multiple devices and only have the vpn running on the one
phone)
In the mean time thank you for your great work.
