Uncool research comes up as cool. #2

Notice how it plateaus and declines, but still “it’s cool”.

well - it depends how you define "cool":

1) Microarray is still cool imo! 2) Didn't exist 15 years ago - so good sign of rising technology 3) It declines only on the last year - impossible to conclude about tendency on one point 4) The coolness is assessed over a 10 years window - that's why it doesn't pick up the recent plateau - maybe would give better results to consider only 5 years range.

Hmm. Good justification but IMHO you need to account for the fact that all biomedical research is recent and fast-paced. If something plateaus for several years while everything else rises …

OK - I will try reducing the window to 5 years - captures maybe better the freshness of the topic.
