Where is this in the source code? We could reduce the hold time if there is one.

Hi! Thanks @TronFourtyTwo I didn't know the «pencil trick» it was quite random for me... I thought it was «holding on the screen» + «hamburger» [actually, if you hold your number on top bar and then hamburguer it works XP]

Commit 1280 (https://github.com/loqui/im/commit/b8de0c02cdd508d179210dc467f29e4dd2a9fd7b) fixes this.
In Ubuntu Touch to make the left appears you have to press the pencil for some second, because the left swipe doesn't work. Maybe move the panel from left to the bottom (that is the suggested and the better place for panels in UT) could be a good idea
