Install directly from ubuntu repro's isn't working #120

When I install touchegg from the Ubuntu repositories it doesn't work. It seems
to be a problem with the GTK module. It doesn't find the modulepad "Pixmap".

Any help?

I get the following error:

:~$ touchegg

‘pixmap’,

Touchégg uses Qt, not GTK, looks like is working ok. You need to make
gestures. The name of the gestures should appear in the terminal.

With Magic Trackpad in Oneiric is not necessary make any change, only install
($ sudo apt-get install touchegg), run ($ touchegg) and go ;)

Supported Gestures
some more information ,this gesture ,found in the utouch documentation are
working

Unity has support for some system gestures, and you can try those out right
away. Here's a list:

3 finger pinch to maximize/restore windows
3 finger press and drag to move window
3 finger touch to show grab handles
4 finger swipe left/right to reveal launcher
4 finger tap to open dash

does that means that ginn is active ?

Hi all,

Touchegg seems to be working well on my MBP 7.1 (Ubuntu 11.10).
Concerning the gestures who is already supported by Unity/Utouch, they are not
recognized by touchegg. How can I enable these gestures for touchegg instead of
Utouch ?

Thanks

Yes, this is a problem with Unity. Unity don't allow to other applications
(like Touchégg) to use gestures with 3 and 4 fingers... And is not possible
change this "feature" or personalize the Unity gestures :S

PS - KDE and Gnome are your friend.. Unfortunately is the only solution...

Thanks for replying.
I found an issue related on the Utouch documentation about this.
The gestures in Utouch seems to be managed by ginn. The conf file is
/etc/ginn/wishes.xml. I tried to comment/remove the section about these
gestures but the result is the same.
Maybe anyone will find a solution about this issue...

Regards,

R.

Nope, Ginn is a separated program... Unity has their own gesture management in
the core and is not possible deactive it :S The only solution is not use Unity,
or try to ask to the Unity developpers the option to disable the multitouch
features
