Yes, I don't know why, but my message is cutted :S

By default Unity uses gestures with 3 and 4 fingers making impossible to
Touchégg use these gestures. Probably that's the problem.

Try to run Touchégg in Gnome or in KDE

Greetings!!

I think what the OP means (and is also happening to me (Ubuntu 11.10)) is that
the GUI window never appears. I am using compiz with openbox (no unity, no
gnome-shell. LightDM calls it openbox-gnome I believe). When I launch
touchegg from the command line it starts and seems to recognize when I do a
gesture on my touchpad, but there is no GUI, no window that pops up, etc.

--(dmartinez@vera:$)-- /usr/bin/touchegg
Reading config from  "/home/dmartinez/.config/touchegg/touchegg.conf"
[+] New gesture:
    Type      ->  "DRAG"
    Fingers   ->  2
    Direction ->  "DOWN"
    Action    ->  "SCROLL"
    App Class ->  "URxvt"
    Gesture Start 0 "Drag,touch=2"
    Gesture Update 0 "Drag,touch=2"
    Gesture Update 0 "Drag,touch=2"
    Gesture Update 0 "Drag,touch=2"
    Gesture Finish
[+] New gesture:
    Type      ->  "DRAG"
.....

It will print out tech relating to mousepad issues forever until I issue a
Ctrl+C, but never anything else (no GUI, no errors about launching GUI, etc).

Let me know what other information I can provide.

Hi!

I'm sorry, but the GUI for the current version is not available.. And I haven't
got many time to work on it. You will need to edit the configuration file to
change the Touchégg settings:

Aha! That clears it up!

The OP and I must've seen the same YouTube vid with the sexy UI. I'll check
the documentation referenced.

Thanks
