PostNL Refuses to Accept EU Identity Cards #1

Open lorrden opened 1 year ago

lorrden commented 1 year ago

PostNL a parcel delivery company, has started to refuse to accept non-dutch identity cards for picking up packages in the Netherlands.

As national identity cards are issued only to Dutch nationals, it is impossible for EU citizens residing in the Netherlands to pick up packages.

EU nationals thus need to exchange their drivers licenses to pick up parcels from PostNL. However, having a drivers license is not compulsory for exercising freedom of movement.

Public policy on PostNL website says they accept EU IDs, but if policy changed this may not be reflected on the website.

This could be a case of unaware personell.
