Any chance for custom controls? I'd like to swap WASD and arrow keys. Proper controller support would be great too.

We talked about it before. Seriously doubt we'll ever get to it but should be documented anyway since a customer (!!) brought it up.

A really easy way to satisfy at least this person (if not everyone) would be to provide an option to switch WASD with arrow keys (even if by just pressing a key). That would be a pretty straightforward fix.
