You should start porting to NET #228

NET 6 / NET 7 or wait for NET 8 because net framework isn't used much anymore

This is a tool, which need to be small. Windows 11 still came with .NET framework preinstalled. And the support lifecycle is the same as Windows. I don't see a reason to move to .NET 6/7/8 at this moment.
