Install failure in Hardy #11

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. trying to install the program

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected to install the program. I received this error message:
/tmp/dpm_0.4~welemski1_ubuntu8.04_i386.deb could not be opened, because the
associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in
your preferences.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
4.1 I am using Ubuntu Hardy

Please provide any additional information below.

I am using the gdebi installer.
