Here is some pretty stark evidence of gender-based brain differences in language processing (though I make no claim regarding biological sex) - what was interesting from a data science perspective was that these differences were obfuscated by Simpson's paradox (from a cog nerusci perspective I had no apriori reason to assume gender-based differences during early auditory processing)... it wasn't until I added gender as a between-groups factor that I saw the effect I was looking for.
