Summary

Basic Architecture for on-map 476 Cultures is done. Summary is in the excel file below [1].

On the whole, the structure from WtWSMS was kept and _group were converted to heritages. Some additional granularity was added with the addition of north_sea_germanic as a language which spans 3 culture groups and helped resolve some issues with how to assign wittengamot. Languages were set up on the approximate basis of mutual intelligibility where known. In some cases, lack of data led to a number of new languages being made, like in the East Germanic Heritage cultures.

Some custom history localizations were added to reduce the number of dead cultures referenced, particularly for heritage_latin. These include BC creation dates via customization for additional accuracy. Taifal was added as an East Germanic culture as a Gothic/Sarmatian hybrid speaking Scythian, given Taifal's toponymic and historical importance for the Merovingians. Macronian was relocalized as "Lazic" for improved clarity.

New Traditions

Several New Traditions were added (and some innovations removed) to fit within the new culture framework.

Mercenary Army

Byzantine Succession mirrors Roman Succession with respect to innovations, as does East Roman Legacy (but with cataphracts instead of legionaries)

For this bullet:

I have the following excel file attached outlining the proposed heritage/language families and groups:

With the CCU mod features implemented, new granularity has been added to heritages and languages; this should, for example, make it easier for Germans to hold Germanic culture/language provinces and such as well as provide additional accuracy in defining certain aspects like language.

Example as tribal king of Sweden looking at Thuringian cultural acceptance. In Vanilla, the acceptance would drop by -15 (different heritage and language) and only be 25%.

Providing a graphical version for the BP version of CCU heritage group/families and language group/families:

Heritages: heritage_map Large Boxes: Families Small Boxes: Groups Ellipses: Heritages

Green are heritages that are in the game (CK3) but aren't currently used.

Languages: language_map Large Boxes: Families Small Boxes: Groups Ellipses: Languages

Red are languages that should be added in the future, while violet are languages/groups/families that exist in code but are not included at this time (like Tungusic)
