compass doesn't work #68

You will have to complete all fields in order to get the issue accepted.
Also please include logcat. We cannot investigate what we cannot reproduce.

Which device are you on? (Ace,Fit, Gio or Mini)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. install gps status app
2. open it
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The app has a included compass, which should targeting to north! But it doesn't.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
release 05/11/2012

no logcat needed, just install the app from playstore and see for yourself

using sensor kinetics app to compare accelerometer and magnetic field sensors 
against a second galaxy ace running stock ROM gives the following results.

accelerometer x, y and z - all correct
magnetic field y - correct
magnetic field x and z - values inverted i.e. negative and positive values 
swapped.  results do appear to be in correct channel.

Have a similar problem. Using 1/4/2013 update of jellaxy cm10.
The compass has switched east with west and calibration with gps status or 
drawing the figure 8 has no effect.
