currupt file help: Google Arts and Culture #248

please help to dezoomify this Lion of Saint Mark at maximum resolution (zoom level 8).

zoom level 7 will work however the difference in pixels is extreme between zoom level 7 and zoom level 8.

i am using my work laptop, a dell, and my first thought is that perhaps this laptop does not have enough memory to compile such a large file. -6.09 gig-

If anyone can get this to succeed please help me by uploading to google drive and allowing me to access to the file. Please help!

Hello ! Can you please make a detailed bug report ? Explain in details exactly what you are doing, what you are expecting, and what you are seeing instead. Include screenshots, logs, and error messages.

what image viewer is being used to open this file please.

I have attempted to use "photos" via Windows, and "Photoshop Lite", and also another random png viewer

But each time I attempt to open the file I get a corrupted file error. "Sorry, Photos can't open this file because the format is currently unsupported, or the file is corrupted"

Will you please share with me what image viewer you are using to successfully open this file?

Thanks!

This file is too large to open in an image viewer tool on my machine too, but it can be manipulated with tools such as image magick. If you want something of a more reasonable size that you can open locally, you can download one of the smaller zoom levels.

You can also re-create image tiles locally and view the results in a web based viewer by downloading to the iiif format: https://dezoomify-rs.ophir.dev/
