Hello ! I was indeed a little worried myself, hosting a site with so much publicly available user-generated content. Would you want to propose a draft for a reasonable legal notice for the site ? We can then discuss it. I think the most important is to specify that the site owner does not endorse or take responsibility for the content generated by users, and reserves itself the right to delete content anytime without notice.
In my opinion that will be very dependent from the country and federal laws in that country. For me e.g it could be ok to place a link on the landing page to the legal notice. It could be possible that some other countries demands the notices or a link on every board. I don't know. For my domain I did it already, and my plan ist to use that for my self hosted tools, as well. https://www.elearningdienst.de/impressum.html
If you wonder about the private data: The German laws does not allow privacy if you run a service. There is simply no privacy for the hoster, just for the users 🙄.
The parts of the GDPR (General data protection regulation) should be suitable to all EU contries. I think that will be higly harmonized.
But remember: The hoster ist responsible, not the developer. So there should be a place, not the content!
Great tool. To use it within the laws in Germany I need a place where to left the "Impressum" Imprint / legal notice. How can I do that on the landing page?
