scanned writing / outlines instead of simple strokes are drawn

Hi together! I hope that you can help me. I want to scan my handwriting and write the text with the drawbot. However, the drawbot draws the outline of the writing. So it draws the outside paths instead of putting the path in the middle of the letters. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? Please help.

I just want to pop in here and say that like most CNC devices, your single line writing is not single line to a computer - it has a thickness to it.

For creating hand writting that the plotter understands as a single line, you'll have to say goodbye to your own quirks and use a library or a font that can handle the job for you.

Or, if you've got the time, you can write something down, scan it, then meticulously trace the text with the pen tool to give the cnc the right information.
