It would be useful to be able to access some file put in the file sharing directory via itunes. It would immensly expands possibility in ios.

Maybe the sandboxed nature of ios app prevent accessing it directly, but being able, at least, to copy some files at runtime to be used in game (like custom levels or save files) would be a great addition.
