Couldn't get the fontawesome suggested way of using tags to work but the raw unicode seems ok.
Icon ended up looking a bit small so I added the font-size bump, however it doesn't align well with the rest of the navbar, if you increase the size to say 200% you end up with the top of the navbar links and the github logo aligned and you'd want the centerlines or baselines aligned.
My CSS/Bootstrap knowledge is minimal so this is about as far as I can get!
I went for a version without the github icon for now, including the fontawesome brands thing will add 200kb to our CSS, picking individual icons is slightly trickier, and a pure SVG version is annoying as well.
