New Git snapshot of hardinfo in Debian and Ubuntu? #258

Open tsimonq2 opened 6 years ago

tsimonq2 commented 6 years ago

I recently became a Debian Maintainer, which means I have direct upload access to hardinfo in Debian and Ubuntu.

So I wanted to ask if it was worth uploading another Git snapshot of hardinfo with newer changes to Debian, or if I should wait a bit. This was the most recent commit rolled in.

(Perhaps the new release could be finalized?)

Thanks!

Congrats @tsimonq2! HardInfo was the first package I made for Debian, back in the day when I wanted to be a DD.

These days, @bp0 is the one doing most of the development, I'm mostly merging patches and writing one-liner fixes here and there when time allows.

In Devuan there a deb process where the sources and debina packagin process are direclty from git (like archlinux and alpine) maybe we need lines like that. But i have some problems with old versions compilation..

also a new issue with this was not necesary, the old threath about debian issue was enought to discuss this topic

@tsimonq2 , Perhaps now might be a good time. Many bugs are fixed. @ocerman has added some good stuff.
