4MOST long-term scheduler (LTS)

Initial work is underway for a 4MOST long-term scheduler (LTS), Frohmaier will engage with the working groups to ensure that the LSST survey strategy forms a key part of the 4MOST plans.

Note: activities in this ticket correspond to O-2 from the updated IKC workplan for Apr'24 to Mar'27 (see #58):

O2. Cross-project integration: we will establish and maintain cross-project integration of LSST:UK software tools (e.g., Lasair) with 4MOST, and to ensure TiDES strategy aligns with complementary LSST working groups (e.g., DESC and TVS). We will work with the 4MOST team on the long-term scheduler to optimise the 4MOST visit plan with the LSST strategies.

will need to run a 4MOST simulation directly linked to LSST and check if this has conflicts with other surveys
if conflicts, @chrisfrohmaier will negotiate

4MOST Science Team meeting in Sweden in w/b 12/FEB/24 has a morning session dedicated to this so expect updates after that
will need to wait for 4MOST developed to implement the simulation

Chris running the LTS team who are meeting every fortnight in order to develop the LTS.

Note: the following items from the Jan-Mar'24 plan in the FY24Q1 quarterly update (#55) correspond to activities under this ticket
- Frohmaier will finalise a Long-term Strategy within 4MOST to include an LSST influence.
- Frohmaier will participate in the 4MOST Science Team Meeting and chair the LTS session.

Completed the Year 1 LTS web tool. Published here: https://ltsyear1areas.streamlit.app Tool has been distributed to 4MOST members who will provide their results to Chris.
