Raphael previously had memory issues (segmentation fault) so speaking to DESC developers (Jim C) about getting these fixed

BPS now working but has some erratic crashing that is still being investigated by the team responsible
possible issues with total CPU time which seems high compared to gen2. This maybe due to extra steps.
BPS will continue to be developed and hence such issues will be resolved on an ongoing basis by the responsible team
Fixing these snags is not the responsibility of WP3.5 and hence is outwith the scope of this tasks
Given the BPS is working, this task can be closed.
