(D3.8.1.1-2, Mar 2026). We request continued support to consolidate the UK leadership in LSST photo-z as a linchpin for cosmological and astrophysical inference, and to leverage the Phase B investment by advancing our work to the critically important engagement with early LSST data releases in three key areas: 1. characterising the impact of the LSST’s observing conditions and observing strategy on spatially varying photo-z and galaxy sample pdfs; 2. preparing, optimising, and validating the infrastructure for the clustering-redshift technique, a vital approach for photo-z validation that needs to be made fit for the highly spatially variable LSST data; 3. connecting DESC pipelines to enable the accurate propagation of photo-z distributions and their uncertainties into cosmological likelihoods (cf. Stölzner, Joachimi, et al. 2021, A&A, 650, A148).
