Expecting this will provide input to a paper. Converging on a solution following discussions with external collaborators.

More functions added to the synthetic image creation for different kinds of objects. Experimenting with 3 kinds of algorithms. Outline of paper that describes existing algorithms and their usefulness and compare with novel algorithm. Expect to test on deep with small fields rather than full HSC testing. Expecting that scaling up to HSC will be non-trivial, Expecting to work with another in-kind contribution on this.

At 18/NOV/21, WP3.7 team reported

At meeting with the DM team a few weeks ago it was agreed to have a regular monthly meeting starting January 2022.
The DM team have provided WP3.7 with infrastructure for source injection into a test pipeline. WP3.7 can now run tests without relying on DM team. This is very helpful.
WP3.7 team are reaching out to other SCs within the LSST Coordination Group. Observers from other SCs will provide early input on WP3.7 work. Scope is therefore being extended beyond galaxies.

Aaron will discuss during princeton visit
expect to run whole pipeline by self and get some new plots.
simulate image software will be put on the lsst:uk github.
started putting together a paper on pitfalls of sky subtraction methods
will test some other sky subtraction algorithms with the simulated data set
after cleaning up bugs on simulated data will then move to testing on the real data (ie. #33)

At 13/JAN/22 WP-PM meeting, WP3.7 team reported

Aaron has become an unofficial DM team member
Aaron met the DM team in Princeton just before Xmas'21
this meeting concerned implementing metrics direct into pipeline
Aaron has been onboarded to the DM systems so can now directly connect and run DM pipeline anytime needed.
Aaron will supply code to the metrics staff so they can run this whenever wanted
Sky subtraction activity on hold for the moment due to Princeton visit

Aaron returned to sky subtraction activity
currently writing paper and adding unit tests
once unit tests ready, code will be uploaded to Github
