I have removed the pre-commit ci bot from my end, but it still shows up as one of the checks. Merging this anyway, since the failure mode is known, and will hopefully go away in future PRs.
Also, fail with Github merge queue feature, since it wouldn't let me merge this without merging #11 , but I do want to merge this first. So disabled the feature, FWIW.
