8 years ago i think adding page-node using the entity API would do fine. found some examples out there that work. the order when is added? at deims.install, implementing the hook_install_tasks sounds good. testing needed.
It is not a bug per se, but a helper. When deployed for the first time, DEIMS is not appealing, just a plain blank canvas. At the very least we should put a welcome message in the front page that says something more that Welcome. A suitable is a small explanation, how to get started, and other links. Should be easy.
