There are items in the repository root (ILTER, lterhive, metacatsearch, webservice, autocomplete (?)) that are no longer active but might have some value in the future or are referred to in publications.
These could be moved to an "obsolete_vocab_code" directory in the repository root with a README.md describing the contents of each sub-directory.
