function handles are currently accepted as parameters, but can not be evaluated in Python.
open questions/discussion points:
would anyone want to use them in Python? if so, in which context?
option1: for each output parameter, check if it is a struct. if so, check if it contains function handles. if so, convert them to a string. but this in itself will not lead to evaluable expressions, because most function handles still contain additional parameters with values that can not be accessed (in a regularly supported fashin). accessing them in an unsupported fashion is better worth the effort...
option2: rewrite function handles in (the original LTFAT) such that they can be meaningfully evaluated. again, this should better be worth the effort...
option3: leave it as it is, and maybe add some more informative error message or similar.
in any case, it might be good to have a look at the frames framework first, as it is the second function handle-heavy module and might have additional requirements to those of filterbank
