Minor changes, and a fix to the license #2

Original file (spi.c) was GPL, there are some potential issues (see the commit log) relicensing a GPLed file under CC BY-SA. As such, I've changed the license in the readme to GPL.

Also, perhaps we should merge my fork back into the trunk?
