1.30 The Role -Secondary component is providing visual design aspect -Prefers more of a flexible guide approach -Work on imagine piece -Conduct interviews online and in person -has freelances doing data entry and transcribing -Budget for flying
The Team -Use a triangle method -Use Asuana and inivo software -Work on Academy Sports, Chick fil A, Home Depot, Capitol 1 -In addition to the research you are the "host" for the event and Tricia the MC -Tricia is over all more hands off aside from more high profile cases -If there is a problem just say it, not a CYA atmosphere -Lenient on time, pencil down for Tricia at 6pm -Entrepreneurial attitude -Still writing processes etc -Within each project people can wear different hats and have a different hierarchy while maintaining structure

TEAM -Dan is the closest role to the open researcher position (Dan is under improve) -Kevin is systems, recruiting, processes -Dan and Kevin work closely together -Has doubled the revenue with steady profits -did this by focusing on relationships and getting recommendations that way -Not CYA. able to speak up and discuss with anyone and role ideas. -Bi weekly tbs -Fiscal and hierarchal benefits to being part of MMA
ROLE -Would closely collaborate but not report in or maybe touch same product as another person. -Too few people for overlap
THOUGHTS -Thought it went well. -Kevin was very analytical and went through each piece of the resume with questions. Thought it went well and I was able to answer fairly well -Team needs to be able to roll with it, different schedule and cadences
2.2 Spoke with Tricia and discussed the role further. One more interview with Ann Garret to go -January a little slower -April starts picking up -Mid April looking to do a q2 strategy in Michigan -Company is ESOP employee owned. We are on the hunt to find a people person who is nimble and scrappy, and occasionally clever or quirky, to join our team of Experience Builders as Design Research Lead. Within our team, this intrepid spirit will:
· Develop interview guides and questionnaires
· Help orchestrate prototype simulations – ranging from physical experiences to digital apps
· Conduct in-field and online interviews focused on early-stage innovations or pilot programs
· Analyze interviews along with other data streams to discover themes, develop insights and journey visualizations
· Integrate multiple data streams to synthesize data learnings into a framework that tells a story and leads to actionable recommendations
What should you have in your toolkit?
· 5+ years previous experience with design research including guide design (moderator guides, questionnaire, diary prompts, etc.) that uncover clients’ business question(s)
· Understanding of how to analyze video data and open ends
· Comfortable with a variety of online and offline user research methods, including one-on-one interviews, chat boards, diaries, missions, prototype testing, group discussions, etc.
· Curious, not overwhelmed, when faced with messy data
· Ability to work remotely and independently to complete project tasks without micromanagement
· Proficiency with MS Office Suite – all the usual suspects plus Teams
· Graphic design experience, or a keen visual eye, are a plus!
Any other items needed in your bag of tricks?
· Juggler – able to manage multiple clients/projects, managing against project timelines
· Astronaut tendencies – ok with taking the first step without knowing how it will end
· The piece(s) of paper: Bachelor's Degree (minimum) or Master's Degree in Service Design, Industrial Design, User Experience Design, or related fields
· The position is remote, with up to 50% domestic travel and/or on-site workdays
· Primary market for required on-site client work in Atlanta, additional markets TBD
· Of course, you need excellent verbal and written communication skills, a red cape is a bonus
