The illusive "Edit>Initialize data grid" dialog #58

v2.1 build from 10:44 01-Mar-2016 on Ubuntu Linux 14.04 LTS

I like the "Initialize data grid" dialog. The thing is that I can't figure out it's rules for when it activates and deactivates whenever I try to measure a new series. Just when I think I have the correct procedure down, it changes on me. I swear yesterday, I got it to activate by switching back and forth between the "Data" and the "Metadata" tab a few times.

Please, kind sir, what is the nature of this illusive beast?

Nevermind... it just seems to be a little tricky.
