The better one (Serene Seasons) now has a version for fabric

https://curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/serene-seasons/files/all?gameVersionTypeId=4

Thefatsparrow commented 10 months ago

well there aint a version for 1.20.4 so this mod is very much needed and actually adds support for mods other than ones created by the creator itself (biomes o plenty) lol

Rafii2198 commented 10 months ago

Fabric Seasons have also a few more possibilities like syncing season with real time, something that Serene Seasons doesn't have.

Terraphice commented 10 months ago

The creator(s) of Serene Seasons are against FOSS and are generally very unpleasant. Biomes O' Plenty was neglected for ages, Tough As Nails became a paid mod, and Serene Seasons lacks a few features. Any alternative to their mods will always be welcome.

edricus commented 9 months ago

It's needed because Serene Seasons is only available on 1.20.4 for Fabric.

vico93 commented 6 months ago

Also there is a ongoing mixin "clash" between SereneSeasons and MoreCulling, althrough FXMorin (MoreCulling author) fixed this on his side SereneSeasons is yet to fix on their too, so an alternative like Fabric Seasons is still desired in cases like this.

Tough As Nails became a paid mod

How is that? But it's available on Modrinth/CurseForge. I really don't get it.

They must have backpedaled on it then. I remember them locking temperature out of the free version of the mod, and offering it on Patreon with that feature. I also seem to recall them wanting the RLCraft creator to pay them for the mod, which is why RLCraft no longer uses TaN.

Anyways, you necro'd this issue with an off topic post, so I'll bring it back on topic.

This issue should be closed, as it was never a genuine issue in the first place. +1 to that suggestion.
