I want to use ixpeobssim to calculate the polarization degree and angle of a real observation data downloaded from IXPE archive data. In the papers, they say that i need to subtract the background before further analysis, but i could not find how to subtract the background. I see from the tutorial that i can use xpbin command to generate the stokes spectra and use xpbinview command to visualize the result. Then i think maybe there are some way in these two commands to bin the background spectra and there are some place that can subtract the background from the source. But in the website, i could not find the details in doing so. So i write to ask how can i bin the background spectra and how can i subtract the background from the source, of a real observation dataset?
Hope to hear from you soon and thank you for any help in advance.
