Malformed packets from the FPGA/USB interface #97

This is a well known issue and it's there under Linux and Windows, with both the old and the new DAQ, so it looks like some buffers are really malformed at the FPGA level.

Dealing with this in the DAQ code is tracked at issues #41 and #94, but we should also investigate the root cause.
