taskbar icon info doesnt update based on non selected changes

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. enable 2 audio sources (i did onboard sound and usb headphones)
2. set the usb headphone icon to a different color in the options
3. listen to something on the usb audio
4. pull out the usb audio cable while you are listening

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Once the 2nd sound source, usb audio, is removed the audio switches to the 
remaining sound source automatically.   however, the audioswitch taskbar info 
and color do not update their information. 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v2.0   .    windows 7 pro sp1
