I have mitsubishi heat pump and would like to have controll via openhab. I can't give you access to my device but can help with testing or some tracing if you provide info what do you need.

@gooooba thanks for offering to test. Initial implementation has been done in issue #13. If you are already usinnng the MELCloud binding you can download the last build here: https://github.com/lucacalcaterra/org.openhab.binding.melcloud/issues/13#issuecomment-528946354

If this will be the first time you are installing the binding I can provide you with a new build as some thing have changed from type.

I added support for the things that were available in the device available at that time. Currently there is:

If you have more options available on your device I can implement them.

Great to hear :) I tried the plugin once and it didn't discover the device. I looked now and in the description it says that it only supports AC devices. Will try :)

It would be great if we could also trigger the presets and get some information regarding the pump operation (Flow temperatures, valve, pump, boilerheater, imersionheater, boosterheater status).

Please look at the attached file for parameters:

@gooooba thanks for the detailed info. These parts should already be implemented and working in the build linked in my previous post. Older builds indeed only contain logic for A.C. Devices (we develop what we can test :)).

This is a new build based on recent changes in the main part of the binding. No functionality has been added though. org.openhab.binding.melcloud-2.5.0-SNAPSHOT_20191027_heatpump.zip

I have installed this binding and got it working. For it to be useful it is missing a few options. In my single zone installation I am not able to see the temperatures, plus to be able to manage the heatpump the flow and return temperatures are very important.

Please can the following be added:

Or, can you advise on how these can be added ito the binding? Many thanks, George

Hi George, do you see these options in your MELCloud app? If so, could you provide guest access for a short time so I can check the communication? If you prefer not to provide guest access you can get the required info yourself if you like, steps are explained in: https://github.com/lucacalcaterra/org.openhab.binding.melcloud/issues/13

Thank you. I have added you as a guest access. You should have received an email from melcloud.

I do not see all these options, but some of them. I had got some of the options from the file submitted by gooooba https://github.com/gooooba . I can see these options on the Ecodan control panel, but not on the melcloud website/app. If they can be retrieved it would be very useful.

In my AC device app not have these options :-( @thewiep have you checked it ?

thewiep commented 4 years ago

Thanks for providing guest access!

I just checked info from MELCloud and 2 items are indeed available in the response:

The others:

For now I would first like to get the binding merged into the official repo and look into this further at a later point. @gck303, would you be willing to provide some feedback at that point and do some tests? For now you can remove guest access.

gck303 commented 4 years ago

Thank you. Yes, I am very happy to test this and provide the support/access to make sure it works.

I will remove the guest access for now.

I just checked info from MELCloud and 2 items are indeed available in the response:

  • OperationMode
  • OperationModeZone1 so these are probably easy to implement.

The others:

  • ReturnTemperature
  • FlowTemperature
  • OutdoorTemperature
  • CurrentEnergyConsumed
  • CurrentEnergyProduced are not available in the device response but are available in the list response. I need to check how to best handle this.
