Proposal: WSL Integration for Linux-Based Packages on Windows

To allow Linux-based CLI tools and even R packages that are not natively available on Windows to be run via WSL, this interface will enable seamless execution and compatibility.

The following elements are required for successful WSL integration:

• [ ] Recommend that IO bound operations happen directly on the Linux filesystem.
• [ ] Support both WSL 1 and 2.
• [ ] Check first if the package is available on Windows.
• [ ] Fix filesystem path strings, ensuring seamless interoperability.
• [ ] Check the user name (UID) and file permissions on the Linux side.
• [ ] Documentation and vignette.
• [ ] Use case 1, BLASTr.
• [ ] Use case 2, isoformic end-to-end workflow.
